Saga Car Rental Expands Its Electric Fleet in May 2026

Saga Car Rental has offered electric vehicles for years, and demand continues to grow as travelers experience how convenient and enjoyable electric driving has become in Iceland. Starting in May 2026, we are expanding our electric fleet significantly, offering even more modern, comfortable, and long-range EVs suitable for every type of journey.
Iceland’s charging infrastructure continues to develop rapidly. Drivers can travel confidently along the Ring Road, through small towns, and to many of Iceland’s most iconic natural sites. Combined with the strong range of today’s electric cars, exploring Iceland in an EV is more accessible than ever.
Every electric rental from Saga Car Rental includes an E-One charging key. The key gives you access to the entire E-One charging network, which brings together a wide range of charging partners and locations across Iceland. Charging on the E-One network is included in the daily rental rate at no extra cost.
Travelers can explore the full network here:

For charging outside the E-One network, travelers simply register with the relevant charging provider and pay for those sessions separately. This keeps the majority of charging seamless and cost-free while allowing flexibility for more remote areas.
Our expanded selection includes electric SUVs, crossovers, and sedans designed specifically for Icelandic conditions. Smooth acceleration, instant torque, quiet cabins, and excellent all-weather performance make EVs a reliable choice in every season.

Often, yes. Many rural areas already have chargers connected to the E-One network, and additional options from other providers exist for even greater flexibility. For very isolated areas or highland routes, we recommend planning ahead and reviewing charging points before departure.
Our EVs offer strong real-world range that comfortably supports long driving days and Iceland’s extended distances. Range varies by model, but all vehicles are selected to meet the needs of Icelandic travel.
